Le Point is about designing classic and beautiful needlepoint canvases and kits, that bring the art of needlepoint into your everyday life—for the beginner to the enthusiast.
I have been surrounded by needlepoint and beautiful textiles since the day I was born, thanks to my mom, who studied textile design at the University of Nebraska and afterwards, was a lead designer with “The Cross Eyed Cricket” Needlework company starting in 1985. My nursery and our home were filled with my mom’s beautiful designs. While pregnant with me, my mom even designed her all time best selling needlepoint canvas, ‘The Alphabet,’ and continued to design for many years to come.
I followed in mom‘s footsteps, studying textiles at the Savannah College of Art & Design. While studying abroad at SCAD’s campus in the south of France, visiting every little sewing and fabric shop I could find, I stumbled across one of my mom’s original needlepoint pamphlets in the small town of Lyon - which all these years later inspired the beginning of Le Point Studio. Part of our collection reimagines my mom’s original needlework patterns for the modern needlepointer, while the other are originals designed by me.
Our designs often start with a painting or illustration, and then are translated onto needlepoint canvas. I look to vintage textiles, my travels, and my mom's cross stitch designs to inspire and bring my feminine and classic style to our canvases. Each canvas is hand painted with detail and precision to ensure they can be stitched perfectly.
I knew when I started Le Point Studio, that I wanted to make it easier for people to get stitching, by offering kits that had everything a stitcher needed to complete their project. Our kits come with stitching instructions to learn the basic needlepoint stitches, beautiful wool and silk and wool blend yarns to complete your project and sewing needles made in France.
